Anamaria Marinca, a Romanian-born actress. She made her screen debut with her role in the Channel 4 film Sex Traffic and was the recipient of the British Academy Television Award for Best Actress. French, German English fluently. Her father is the theatre professor at one of Romania's finest theater schools. In 2000, the Youth Actor Gala Mangalia awarded her the Best Female Actor Award of 2000. In 2008, she was honoured as an European Shooting Star" by the European Film Promotion Board. The debut film of the actress, Sex Traffic won the award of British Academy Television to be the Best Actress. She also won numerous prizes for her performance in 4 Months 3 Weeks 2 Days a Romanian Art Film. In 2007, she was in the Romanian film 4 luni 3 semaines si2 zile (4 months, 3 weeks, and 2 days), produced by Cristian Mungiu (4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days). The film won two prizes at the Cannes Film Festival (the Cinema Prize of the French National Education System & the FIPRESCI Prize). Also, she was in the Francis Ford Coppola film Youth Without Youth. She was also in 2008 as Yasim Anwar in the BBC Five-episode mini-series The Last Enemy. Marinca was a guest on The Romanian drama Boogie and Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven. Later, she had a major role in 2014's Fury in which she portrayed Irma the German aunt of Emma.
