Jessica Chastain, an American film and television actress known for her portrayal of powerful female characters in female-oriented films. Following her experience in the US show 'Joseph & the Amazing Tecnhicolor dreamcoat she was drawn to acting. Her stage debut professional was in the play "Romeo and Juliet" and then she made her film debut with the character of "Jolene". The actress gained more recognition for her performances in films such as "Take shelter", "The Help", "Mama" and Interstellar. She received the Golden Globe Award for her part in the film 'Zero Dark Thirty with the nomination of 'Best Actress'. The actress is known best for the portrayal of strong and flawed women. Many of her roles are popular for championing feminist ideals. Feminists who are vocal and open about it, she has been known for her support of equality in pay. TIME magazine ranked her among the World's Most Influential People in 2012.
