Jill Hennessy

The resident from Edmonton, Alberta has a multi-generational ancestry that includes Irish, Italian, Swedish, French and Ukranian. She has a twin sister named Jacqueline is a professional actor. As a child, Jill became fluent in different languages such as Italian, French and Spanish. Jill began to become interested in the acting world at age 12. She began her acting career in Toronto with David Cronenberg's Dead Ringers playing an escort with their twin sisters. She then studied improv-comedy at Second City with Deb Kimmet. Two years later, she moved into New York and signed a deal as the Assistant District Attorney Claire Kincaid on the long run of the hit show, Law & Order. In the time that she was in New York and worked on several film projects that featured feature actors like RoboCop 3 (1993), Ron Howard's The Paper (1996) and I Shot Andy Warhol (1996). She was a part of a handful of forgettable films over the following months, and then landed her a leading role in the 1999 miniseries uremberg which was co-produced by Alec Baldwin. Autumn in New York, Exit Wounds and other major productions would follow. The actress was cast as the lead on her role on the NBC Crime show Crossing Jordan in 2001. In 2007, she was honored with the Gracie Allen Award for "Outstanding female character in a drama" for her role on the show. She married another actor, Paolo Mastropietro in 2000.
